Week 4 OL & DL Matchups
Chiefs OL vs. Chargers DL
The Chargers will be without Joey Bosa for this divisional matchup, leaving Khalil Mack the lone elite pass rusher on the defensive line. With the Chiefs having the best interior line in the league, there should be no issue keeping Patrick Mahomes up on his feet.
On top of losing Bosa, the Chargers will be without safety Derwin James due to suspension, which eliminates one of the best blitzing defensive backs in the game.
On the flip side, it is rumored the Chargers could be without their two best offensive linemen, Joe Alt and Rashawn Slater, which may have Justin Herbert or Taylor Heinicke running for their lives Sunday Afternoon.
Jaguars OL vs. Texans DL
The Jaguars are coming off a beatdown by the Bills. At no point was Trevor Lawrence able to find a groove and move the ball downfield throughout the entirety of that game. A lot of that had to do with the Jaguars’ offensive line giving up five sacks and 10 quarterback hits. Anytime you saw Lawrence drop back he was hurried hit or lying on the ground.
Week 4 won’t get any easier as they face a Texans defensive line that ranks third in sacks per pass attempt, fifth in pass-rush win rate and sixth in pressure percentage.
The Jaguars’ offensive line ranks 28th in sacks per pass attempt and 16th in pressure percentage given up.
Rams OL vs. Bears DL
The Bears are 3-point home favorites this week against the Rams, which may surprise a lot of people as the Rams are coming off a huge win against the 49ers while the Bears rank 30th in offensive success rate.
If the Bears have any shot at winning this game, their offensive line will have to protect Caleb Williams.
The Bears’ offensive line ranks 30th in pass-block win rate and are tied for 31st in quarterback hurries given up.
Despite losing Aaron Donald, the Rams’ defensive line has played fairly well, ranking 17th in pass-rush win rate an second in hurry percentage.
