Abdul Carter diagnosed with stress reaction in right foot
Penn State edge rusher Abdul Carter, a projected top pick in the 2025 NFL Draft, was diagnosed with a stress reaction in his right foot at the 2025 NFL Scouting Combine and faces a decision on a potential surgery.
Fantasy Impact
Carter is expected to potentially go as high as No. 1 in the NFL Draft, and while the surgery could complicate his projection given he was sitting out of NFL Combine drills due to a separate shoulder injury, his agent Drew Rosenhaus said he does not expect the diagnosis to affect his draft positioning. According to NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport, a timeline with surgery would mean an eight-week recovery, though he could forego the procedure and be ready in time for the Penn State Pro Day. This is a situation to monitor for IDP leagues.

Brandon Aiyuk: ACL recovery has ‘gone well so far’
49ers GM John Lynch said Brandon Aiyuk‘s ACL recovery has gone well so far.
Fantasy Impact
“The real top-end athletes tend to heal at a little faster rate, and I think that’s going on with Brandon as well,” Lynch said. Aiyuk’s status for the start of the 2025 season remains uncertain, but he does appear to be progressing. With Deebo Samuel requesting a trade, San Francisco will likely look to bring in a wide receiver or two this offseason.

DK Metcalf: Seahawks HC Mike Macdonald says WR needs to be more involved
Seahawks head coach Mike Macdonald said after the season the Seahawks need to get DK Metcalf more involved..
Fantasy Impact
Macdonald added that Metcalf drawing coverage isn’t enough. “We want to get the ball to DK,” he said. “We want to make sure that he’s a focal point of our offense, for sure.” Macdonald acknowledged that Metcalf was among the most targeted WRs the first six games. He hurt his MCL in Week 7, missed two games, then averaged just under six targets from there. Macdonald said he wasn’t 100% over that stretch, also noting Jaxon Smith-Njigba‘s emergence as a factor.
