King has a tasty matchup and favorable betting info tonight. The Angels are tied for 25th in wRC+ (90) with a 26.4 K% versus righties and 24th in wRC+ (80) with a 25.8 K% on the road this year. Thus, the Padres are -220, and the game’s total is 7.0 runs.
Tyler Mahle (TEX) vs. COL
Jacob deGrom isn’t the only pitcher enjoying a successful season on the bump after navigating injuries. Tyler Mahle is thriving this year. In eight starts totaling 42.2 innings, Mahle has a 1.48 ERA, 3.82 xERA, 4.10 xFIP, 4.40 SIERA, 0.98 WHIP, 9.0 BB% and 19.3 K%. Mahle also has a 26.5 CSW%, 92 stuff+, 113 location+ and 105 pitching+ this season. Mahle’s pitching data isn’t perfect, but it’s rock-solid.
He can build on his early-season success in a plus matchup tonight. The Rockies are 30th in wRC+ (67) with a 26.0 K% versus righties and 30th in wRC+ (51) with a 28.4 K% on the road in 2025. Finally, the Rangers are -285, and the game’s total is 8.5 runs.
Ryan Gusto (HOU) vs. KC
Ryan Gusto has split his time relieving and starting this year, making five relief appearances and four starts. He hasn’t been overwhelmed as a starter. In four starts spanning 19 innings, the rookie righty has had the following stats.
- 3.79 ERA

- 3.35 SIERA
- 1.26 WHIP
- Two wins

Gusto has a superb matchup tonight. The Royals are 27th in wRC+ (88) with an 18.0 K% versus righties and tied for 16th in wRC+ (87) with a 20.4 K% on the road this season. Gusto’s betting info isn’t perfect, but the Astros are -120, and the game’s total is 8.5 runs. He’s an intriguing SP2 in GPPs at DraftKings.

Suggested Lineup Stacks
Justin Verlander was dreadful last year, and while he’s pitching better this year, his 4.50 ERA, 4.40 xERA, 4.45 xFIP and 4.38 SIERA aren’t anything to write home about. Since last season, Verlander has allowed a .319 wOBA to lefties and a .346 wOBA to righties. Therefore, Arizona’s left-handed batters, right-handed batters and switch-hitters are all viable stacking options against the veteran righty. Also, while Jordan Lawlar isn’t on the table, the Diamondbacks called him up in the wee hours of the morning, and the blue-chip prospect would be a desirable punt if he were penciled into the lineup tonight.
- Home (T-Mobile Park)
- Game Total/Moneyline: 8.5 Runs/SEA +110
Clarke Schmidt‘s 4.79 ERA in four starts this season is in stark contrast to 3.13 xERA. However, it’s not too dissimilar to his 4.58 xFIP and 4.53 SIERA, both enticing numbers to stack against. Moreover, the righty is lousy against lefties, ceding a .338 wOBA to 237 of them since last year. Seattle’s righties have a considerably more difficult assignment, so their lefties and switch-hitters are the most appealing stacking picks.
Core Studs
- Corbin Carroll has 31 runs, 11 homers, 28 RBIs, five stolen bases, .347 OBP, .298 ISO and 150 wRC+ in 190 plate appearances this season.
- In 111 plate appearances this season, Jorge Polanco has 16 runs, nine homers, 18 RBIs, one stolen base, a .373 OBP, .327 ISO, .437 wOBA, .436 xwOBA and 194 wRC+.
- Josh Naylor has had a .346 OBP, .204 ISO and 128 wRC+ versus righties since 2023.
Value Plays/Punts
- Since 2023, J.P. Crawford has had a .348 OBP, .149 ISO and 116 wRC+ versus righties.
- Leody Taveras‘s 95 wRC+ against righties since 2023 is underwhelming, but he’s cheap exposure to Schmidt’s susceptibility against left-handed batters.
- In 383 plate appearances against lefties since 2023, Alec Bohm has hit 18 homers with a .329 OBP, .221 ISO and 126 wRC+.

As I noted above, the Rockies are dead last in wRC+ against righties (67 wRC+) and on the road (51 wRC+) this season. Corbin Carroll: 7.5 Fantasy Points – Higher (Sleeper) (1.74x)
Corbin Carroll: 8.5 Fantasy Points – Higher (Underdog)
