Friday’s Starting Pitcher Rankings

Logan Gilbert (SEA) at TEX

According to FanGraphs, Logan Gilbert’s 2.45 xERA, 1.82 xFIP, 2.00 SIERA and 38.0 K% in 2025 are the best among tonight’s probable starters. The righty’s 3.12 ERA in eight starts spanning 40.1 innings this year is also rock-solid.

Gilbert’s matchup is excellent tonight, and his betting info is adequate. The Rangers are 26th in wRC+ (90) with a 21.3 K% versus righties and 29th in wRC+ (80) with a 21.8 K% at home in 2025. Texas was also 24th in wRC+ (92) with a 21.4 K% in the previous 30 days. The Mariners are only -110, but the game’s total is a pitcher-friendly 7.5 runs.

Ryan Pepiot (TB) at BAL

Ryan Pepiot is on a roll entering tonight’s start. He’s had the following stats in his previous five starts spanning 31.1 innings.

  • 2.01 ERA

  • Three quality
  • 7.8 BB%
  • 33.6 K%
  • 14.3 SwStr%
  • 30.1 CSW%
  • 111 stuff+
  • 99 location+
  • 109 pitching+

Pepiot’s matchup isn’t a cupcake, but it’s not a nightmare, either. The Orioles are tied for eighth in wRC+ (107) versus righties and tied for 12th in wRC+ (110) at home this year. However, they have a 23.6 K% versus righties and a 24.2 K% at home this year. Baltimore was also 15th in wRC+ (98) with a 23.8 K% in the previous 30 days. Finally, the Rays are slight favorites (-125), and the game’s total is 9.0 runs.

Jose Soriano (LAA) vs. WAS

Jose Soriano’s salary is too low for how well he’s pitched lately. In his previous five starts spanning 30.1 innings, Soriano has had the following stats.

  • 2.67 ERA
  • 2.81 xFIP
  • 3.15 SIERA
  • 1.19 WHIP
  • Two wins
  • Four quality starts
  • 10.6 BB%
  • 26.8 K%
  • 68.0 GB%
  • 13.3 SwStr%
  • 30.9 CSW%
  • 94 stuff+
  • 111 location+
  • 107 pitching+

Soriano’s matchup and betting info are favorable tonight. The Nationals are tied for 21st in wRC+ (96) with a 19.7 K% versus righties and tied for 16th in wRC+ (96) with a 21.2 K% on the road this season.
