Today’s MLB DFS & Player Props Picks
Monday’s Starting Pitcher Rankings
Clarke Schmidt (NYY) vs. LAA
Clarke Schmidt is in pristine form. According to FanGraphs, Schmidt has had the following stats in his previous five starts spanning 28.1 innings.
- 2.54 ERA
- 3.46 xFIP
- 3.66 SIERA
- 1.20 WHIP
- Two wins
- Five quality starts
- 10.4 BB%
- 27.8 K%
- 12.8 SwStr%
- 28.5 CSW%
- 102 stuff+
- 103 location+
- 102 pitching+
Schmidt has a DFS-friendly matchup and favorable betting info tonight. The Angels are 23rd in wRC+ (96) with a 26.3 K% versus righties and 10th in wRC+ (103) with a 25.4 K% on the road in 2025. Thus, the Yankees are -210, and the game’s total is 8.5 runs.
Logan Gilbert (SEA) vs. BOS
Logan Gilbert is returning from the injured list (IL) tonight but shouldn’t face a substantial pitch restriction after throwing 72 pitches in his last rehab start. Gilbert gets the ball at home tonight, and he’s excelled in his home ballpark. In 127 innings at home since last season, Gilbert has had a 2.41 ERA, 2.63 xFIP, 0.78 WHIP, 4.0 BB% and 31.3 K%.
Gilbert’s matchup is adequate tonight and made easier by the Red Sox trading Rafael Devers yesterday. Boston is tied for 18th in wRC+ (101) with a 23.9 K% versus righties and tied for sixth in wRC+ (106) with a 26.0 K% on the road this year. So, the Mariners are -182, and the game’s total is 7.5 runs.
Ryan Pepiot (TB) vs. BAL
Ryan Pepiot is in good form entering tonight’s start, albeit with a mix of excellent and mediocre statistics. In his previous five starts spanning 31.1 innings, he’s had the following stats.
- 2.30 ERA
- 3.67 xFIP
- 3.69 SIERA
- 0.89 WHIP
- One win
- Four quality starts
- 6.1 BB%
- 24.3 K%
- 11.9 SwStr%
- 24.6 CSW%
- 107 stuff+
- 101 location+
- pitching+
Pepiot’s ERA is much better than his ERA estimators, and his plate discipline numbers aren’t great, but his pitch modeling is excellent. Again, it’s a mixed bag.
Pepiot’s matchup is also mixed. The Orioles are seventh in wRC+ (111) with a 23.3 K% versus righties this season. However, Baltimore is 25th in wRC+ (87) with a 23.6 K% on the road this season. Finally, the Rays are -130, but the game’s total is 9.0 runs, which isn’t necessarily pitching-friendly but also isn’t terrifying.

Suggested Lineup Stacks
JP Sears is in a funk. In his previous six starts, he’s had an 8.78 ERA, 4.91 xFIP, 4.72 SIERA, 1.66 WHIP and 17.1 K%. The lefty has surrendered a .339 wOBA to 876 right-handed batters since last season. The Athletics’ bullpen behind Sears is also terrible, owning MLB’s highest ERA this season. Thus, Houston’s righty-laden lineup should tee off on Sears and the lousy bullpen behind him.
- Home (Sutter Health Park)
- Game Total/Moneyline: 10.5/ATH +135
The Reds crushed Lance McCullers on May 10, but he has ranged from mediocre to above-average in his other starts. His inconsistency could result in a messy start tonight at hitter-friendly Sutter Health Park. According to Baseball Savant’s 2025 park factors, Sutter Health Park has the second-highest park factor for runs (125) and park factors of 111 for OBP, 110 for hits, 103 for singles, 132 for doubles, 110 for triples and 113 for homers.
