Today’s MLB DFS & Player Props Picks
Monday’s Starting Pitcher Rankings
Spencer Schwellenbach (ATL) at NYM
Spencer Schwellenbach has a challenging matchup tonight. According to FanGraphs, the Mets are fourth in wRC+ (117) with a 20.5 K% versus righties and tied for fourth in wRC+ (119) with a 20.6 K% at home in 2025. Nevertheless, the Braves are -120, and the game’s total is 8.5 runs.
Tonight’s slate is talent-deficient at pitcher, and talent is where Schwellenbach shines relative to his peers on this slate. The sophomore righty is also locked in. In Schwellenbach’s previous five starts spanning 35.1 innings, he’s had the following stats.
- 2.80 ERA
- 2.01 xFIP
- 2.33 SIERA
- 0.93 WHIP
- Two wins
- Four quality starts
- 2.9 BB%
- 31.6 K%
- 15.1 SwStr%
- 33.5 CSW%
- 115 stuff+
- 110 location+
- 120 pitching+
I’d rather bet on Schwellenbach’s talent in a tricky matchup than roll the dice on the less talented pitchers in more favorable matchups tonight.
Chad Patrick (MIL) vs. PIT
Chad Patrick is in stellar form and has a sweet matchup. Patrick has had the following stats in his past five starts spanning 26.2 innings.
- 4.05 ERA
- 3.63 xFIP
- 3.62 SIERA
- 1.31 WHIP
- One win
- Two quality starts
- 8.7 BB%
- 27.0 K%
- 12.5 SwStr%
- 27.6 CSW%
- 109 stuff+
- 93 location+
- 101 pitching+
Patrick has a cushy matchup tonight. The Pirates are tied for 28th in wRC+ (79) with a 22.4 K% versus righties and 30th in wRC+ (68) with a 24.0 K% on the road this year. Pittsburgh is also tied for 29th in wRC+ (81) with a 24.0 K% in the previous 30 days. Finally, the Brewers are -180, and the game’s total is 8.5 runs.
Matthew Liberatore (STL) vs. CHC
Matthew Liberatore’s matchup against the Cubs isn’t fun. Chicago is seventh in wRC+ (114) with a 20.4 K% versus lefties and first in wRC+ (123) with a 20.5 K% on the road this season. However, they’re a more palatable 10th in wRC+ (107) with a 21.0 K% in the previous 30 days. Obviously, that doesn’t make them a soft matchup. Still, Chicago is in slightly worse form lately.
Meanwhile, Liberatore is good at home. In 79 innings at home since last year, he’s had a 3.87 ERA, 3.42 xFIP, 1.14 WHIP, 4.7 BB% and 22.4 K%. Finally, the Cardinals are -110, and the game’s total is 9.0 runs, which is mediocre betting info. Thus, Liberatore is an appealing value SP2 at DraftKings.

Suggested Lineup Stacks
Walker Buehler is putrid and heading in the wrong direction. In his previous five starts, Buehler has had a 9.00 ERA, 4.74 xFIP, 4.68 SIERA and 2.00 WHIP. The veteran righty has also served up a .390 wOBA to 338 left-handed batters and a .344 wOBA to 271 right-handed batters since last season. The Angels have some intriguing hitters and palatable salaries in the mouthwatering matchup against Buehler.
- Road (Great American Ball Park)
- Game Total/Moneyline: 10.0 Runs/NYY -125
The Yankees get a homer lift from playing in MLB’s most homer-friendly ballpark. Great American Ball Park’s 1.384 park factor for homers is the highest, and the second-highest is a distant second at 1.211. The Bronx Bombers also get a lift from facing Nick Lodolo. Cincinnati’s lefty stinks in his home ballpark. In 93 innings at home since last year, Lodolo has had a 5.81 ERA, 4.54 xFIP and 1.46 WHIP. He’s also coughed up 1.65 HR/9 at home since last year.
Core Studs
- Aaron Judge has clubbed 33 homers with a .478 OBP, .443 ISO and 228 wRC+ in 335 plate appearances against lefties since 2023.
- Mike Trout has launched 36 longballs with a .359 OBP, .277 ISO and 141 wRC+ in 552 plate appearances against righties since 2023.
- Paul Goldschmidt has hit 15 homers with a .400 OBP, .196 ISO and 153 wRC+ in 423 plate appearances against lefties since 2023.
Value Plays/Punts
- Miguel Vargas has mashed 10 taters with 39 runs, 34 RBIs, three stolen bases, a .323 OBP, .196 ISO and 114 wRC+ in 310 plate appearances this season.
- In Jo Adell‘s previous 112 plate appearances, he’s mashed 11 taters with 16 runs, 20 RBIs, two stolen bases, a .360 OBP, .371 ISO and 176 wRC+.
- DJ LeMahieu is only a few points below average as a hitter this year, owning a 97 wRC+ in 105 plate appearances. Still, he’s attached to the Bronx Bombers’ lineup and low-salaried exposure to Great American Ball Park tonight.
