Today’s MLB DFS & Player Props Picks
Wednesday’s Starting Pitcher Rankings
David Peterson (NYM) vs. WAS
David Peterson is superb at home. According to FanGraphs, in 16 home starts spanning 88 innings since last year, Peterson has had a 3.07 ERA, 3.47 xFIP, 1.35 WHIP, 8.4 BB% and 22.6 K%.
Peterson has a plus matchup and tantalizing betting info tonight. The Nationals are 20th in wRC+ (80) with a 23.6 K% versus lefties and 14th in wRC+ (97) with a 20.6 K% on the road in 2025. Washington was also tied for 20th in wRC+ (94) with a 19.5 K% in the previous 30 days. Thus, the Mets are -250, and the game’s total is 8.0 runs.
Clarke Schmidt (NYY) at KC
Clarke Schmidt is a road warrior. In a dozen road starts spanning 66 innings since last year, Schmidt has had a 2.45 ERA, 3.90 xFIP, 1.20 WHIP, 9.2 BB% and 26.2 K%.
Schmidt should continue his road excellence in a sweet matchup tonight. The Royals are 26th in wRC+ (90) with a 17.8 K% versus righties and 30th in wRC+ (73) with a 17.4 K% at home this season. Kansas City was 25th in wRC+ (90) with an 18.2 K% in the previous 30 days. The Yankees are only -120 favorites, and the game’s total is 9.0 runs. So, the betting info isn’t pristine, but it’s decent, and Schmidt’s salary is too low at both DraftKings and FanDuel.
Robbie Ray (SF) at COL
Coors Field is a treacherous environment for pitchers, and the risk is apparent. Still, Robbie Ray is locked in, and Colorado’s offense is atrocious. Ray has had the following stats in his previous five starts spanning 33 innings.
- 1.91 ERA
- 2.75 xFIP
- 2.67 SIERA
- 0.91 WHIP
- Three wins
- Five quality starts
- 6.4 BB%
- 32.8 K%
- 15.7 SwStr%
- 32.0 CSW%
Again, the Rockies have a lousy offense. They’re 30th in wRC+ (53) with a 27.8 K% versus lefties and 29th in wRC+ (76) with a 25.2 K% at home this year. Colorado was also 30th in wRC+ (70) with a 26.0 K% in the previous 30 days. Finally, the Giants are -235, albeit the game’s total is 10.5 runs.

Suggested Lineup Stacks
Kyle Freeland has a 5.19 ERA, 4.78 xERA, 3.64 xFIP, 3.95 SIERA and 1.54 WHIP in 13 starts this season. He’s had an ERA north of 5.00 in each of the two previous seasons, too. Since last year, Freeland has allowed a .362 wOBA to 138 left-handed batters and a .355 wOBA to 655 right-handed batters. The Giants should tee off on him.
- Road (Fenway Park)
- Game Total/Moneyline: 9.5 Runs/TB -105
The Rays flopped in a tasty matchup last night. I have a short memory, and I suggest stacking them again tonight in another favorable matchup. Walker Buehler is having an unimpressive season, and he’s been at his worst lately. In Buehler’s previous four starts, he had a 7.20 ERA, 5.09 xFIP, 4.61 SIERA, 1.93 WHIP, 10.5 BB% and 19.7 K%. Buehler has also coughed up a .381 wOBA to 302 lefties and a .348 wOBA to 258 righties since last season.
