Chris Sale (ATL) vs. ARI
After a sluggish start to this year, Chris Sale is on fire. According to FanGraphs, the reigning National League Cy Young Award winner has had the following stats in his last five starts spanning 32.1 innings.

Sale’s matchup is mixed tonight. The Diamondbacks are 12th in wRC+ (98) with a 16.4 K% versus lefties in 2025, but they’re also fifth in wRC+ (108) with a 22.4 K% on the road. Still, the Braves are -180, and the game’s total is 8.0 runs.
Mick Abel (PHI) at TOR
Mick Abel is having a breakout campaign. The 15th pick in the 2020 MLB Amateur Draft has dominated in Triple-A this season. In 10 starts totaling 57 innings in Triple-A this year, Abel has a 2.21 ERA, 3.88 xFIP, 1.23 WHIP, 10.9 BB%, 28.0 K%, 13.3 SwStr% and 29.2 CSW%. He was also lights out in his only start for the Phillies, firing six scoreless innings against the Pirates, holding them to five hits and zero walks with nine strikeouts.
Abel’s matchup against the Blue Jays is suboptimal but not terrible. The Blue Jays are 16th in wRC+ (103) with an 18.0 K% versus righties but third in wRC+ (126) with a 17.8 K% at home this year. The betting info isn’t perfect, either. The Phillies are -105. However, the game’s total is a somewhat discouraging 9.0 runs. Still, Abel’s strikeout ability awards him a high ceiling against the Blue Jays tonight.
Clarke Schmidt (NYY) vs. CLE
Clarke Schmidt is in excellent form. In his previous five starts spanning 28.2 innings, he’s had a 3.14 ERA, 3.90 xFIP, 4.04 SIERA, 1.19 WHIP, two wins, four quality starts, a 9.6 BB% and 23.7 K%. Schmidt also had a 12.1 SwStr%, 29.0 CSW%, 103 stuff+, 101 location+ and 102 pitching+ in those starts. So, he had stellar plate discipline and pitch modeling while pitching well lately.
Schmidt has a tasty matchup against the Guardians. Cleveland is tied for 19th in wRC+ (101) with a 20.5 K% versus righties and 11th in wRC+ (100) with a 20.3 K% on the road this season. Finally, the Yankees are -185, and the game’s total is 8.5 runs.
Suggested Lineup Stacks
The Athletics held off on announcing a starter until the last possible moment yesterday before turning to their MLB-worst bullpen. Frankly, I’m not sure who the A’s will start tonight, but they don’t have MLB-caliber options, and another bullpen game would also be DFS-friendly for Minnesota’s lineup tonight. Roster Resource projects Jeffrey Springs to start, so the projected lineup above was constructed with that in mind.

In 12 starts spanning 51.2 innings since debuting in The Show in 2024, Zebby Matthews has a palatable 3.62 xFIP and 3.49 SIERA. However, Matthews has a 6.62 ERA and has coughed up an eye-popping 2.26 HR/9 in the Majors. Sometimes, ERA estimators don’t represent a pitcher’s ability, and Matthews might be an example of someone who isn’t good, despite his quality ERA estimators. Finally, according to Baseball Savant’s 2025 park factors, Sutter Health Park is tied for first in runs (125) and has park factors of 110 for OBP, 112 for hits, 105 for singles, 131 for doubles, 125 for triples and 116 for homers.

In 386 plate appearances against lefties since 2023, Randy Arozarena has tallied 80 hits (48 singles, 14 doubles, one triple and 17 homers), a .242 batting average, .350 OBP and .202 ISO. Conversely, Cade Povich has allowed 108 hits, a .276 batting average, .350 OBP and .467 SLG to 440 righties since last year. As a result, we project Arozarena to have 1.03 hits, 0.52 runs and 0.55 RBIs tonight.
Byron Buxton: 8.5 Fantasy Points – Higher (Underdog)
In 224 plate appearances against lefties since 2023, Buxton has swatted eight homers with a .321 OBP, .215 ISO and 118 wRC+. Meanwhile, Springs has ceded a .329 wOBA to 329 right-handed batters since last season.
Tyler Soderstrom: 5.5 Fantasy Points – Higher (Underdog)
Matthews has coughed up a .314 batting average, .376 OBP, .570 SLG and .405 wOBA to 134 left-handed batters since last season. Soderstrom can take advantage of the cushy matchup in his hitter-friendly ballpark and surpass the low bar of 5.5 fantasy points.
