We have made it through the All-Star break, and we are ready for the final 10 weeks of the season. We are back to a full schedule, allowing us to play matchups, two-steps, hot bats and more. We’ll still look for some fantasy baseball waiver wire targets to improve your teams, but some things can change by the time the second half starts.

Fantasy Baseball Waiver Wire & FAAB Targets
Each week, I will highlight a few players to target in your weekly waiver wire FAAB process, but know there are many others available and, more importantly, others that may be better fitting for your teams. If you have any questions, please ask me on Twitter (@bdentrek).
Note: We use Yahoo for player percentages and recommend players rostered in no more than 60% of leagues.
Hitters
Ivan Herrera (C – STL)
Rostered: 55%
Suggested Bid: 16%
Ivan Herrera returned from the injured list (IL) this past Sunday, and he should be returning to fantasy lineups. Due to his injuries this season, the Cardinals announced that he will only be the team’s designated hitter for the rest of the season.
Entering Friday, Herrera was hitting .320 on the season with eight home runs, 36 RBI and three stolen bases. He’s a hitting machine and should be rostered in most formats.
Willi Castro (2B, 3B, SS, OF – MIN)
Rostered: 47%
Suggested Bid: 8%
It was a slow start to the season for Willi Castro, but he has found his swing of late. Since June 1st, Castro is hitting .276 with five home runs and five stolen bases. He’s barreling the ball 6.7% of the time to go with a solid 50% hard-hit rate.
Castro hit a home run in Coors Field on Friday night to continue his solid production. Castro’s positional flexibility enhances his fantasy value. He should be started in all 12-team and deeper leagues.
Mickey Moniak (OF – COL)
Rostered: 11%
Suggested Bid: 8%
Mickey Moniak is a streaky hitter, but he is on more than just a streak these days. Since June 1st, Moniak is hitting .338 with eight home runs and four stolen bases. He’s locked in at the plate with a 19.3% barrel rate and 45.6% hard-hit rate.
Moniak has a 1.159 OPS and 204 wRC+ since June 1st, just crushing it at the plate. He starts the week with three games in Coors Field before hitting the road for three. He’s scheduled to face four right-handed pitchers in six games, making for a solid fantasy add once again.
Pitchers
Eury Perez (SP – MIA)
Rostered: 58%
Suggested Bid: 17%
Eury Perez has been one of the best pitchers in the game of late. Over his last six starts, Perez has allowed three earned runs or fewer in each start for a 2.32 ERA and 3.79 SIERA.
Perez has struck out 30 while walking nine over 31 innings pitched for a 17.9% K-BB rate. He’s forcing a 13.6% SwStr% with a 73.5% contact rate. Perez has been dialed in and should be rostered in most formats.
Sean Manaea (SP – NYM)
Rostered: 46%
Suggested Bid: 22%
Sean Manaea made his season debut last weekend and allowed one run over 3.1 innings with seven strikeouts. He backed that up on Friday with four innings pitched while allowing one run and striking out six.
Manaea is looking great in his first two appearances and looks healthy, which is the most important part. He should be rostered in most formats.
Emmet Sheehan (SP – LAD)
Rostered: 26%
Suggested Bid: 12%
Emmet Sheehan has been yo-yoed between the Dodgers and Triple-A since returning from the IL. In three appearances with the Dodgers, Sheehan has allowed three earned runs over 13.1 innings pitched with 13 strikeouts and four walks. He has a 16.7% K-BB rate to go with an impressive 14% SwStr%.
Sheehan takes the mound on Saturday versus the Brewers and looks to be in the Dodgers’ rotation as Dustin May will be piggybacking Shohei Ohtani. If Sheehan sticks in the rotation, he should stick on fantasy teams as well.
Closers
Daniel Palencia (RP – CHC)
Rostered: 49%
Suggested Bid: 23%
Daniel Palencia continues to be one of the most dominant closers in the game. He took over closing duties for the Cubs on May 21st and has 12 saves to go with a 0.96 ERA and 2.36 SIERA.
Palencia has only allowed two runs over 18.1 innings pitched to go with 23 strikeouts and four walks for a 27.1% K-BB rate. Palencia picked up his 13th save on Friday, just adding to his appeal. He should be rostered in all formats.
Grant Taylor (RP – CWS)
Rostered: 12%
Suggested Bid: 11%
Grant Taylor continues to get late-inning opportunities for the White Sox. Since he was promoted on June 10th, Taylor has made 13 appearances, allowing eight earned runs for a 4.41 ERA, but a 2.46 SIERA supports it.
Taylor has 19 strikeouts and four walks over 16.1 innings pitched for a 23.1% K-BB. He has five holds and three saves over his 13 appearances and appears to be the main closer for the White Sox whenever they get an opportunity for a save.
