Fantasy Baseball Streaming Pitchers: Waiver Wire Targets (2025)

Fantasy Baseball Streaming Pitchers: Waiver Wire Targets (2025)

Finding good starting pitchers can be a weekly struggle. I aim to solve this headache during this season by finding the best pitchers, every week, who are on most waiver wires. I use the FantasyPros streaming pitchers tool to find league roster percentage information.

Fantasy Baseball Waiver Wire Assistant Analyze Moves Who To Pick Up

First, let’s take a look at last week’s picks:

  • Jacob Latz (vs. MIL) 5.2 Innings, 4 Strikeouts, 0 Earned Runs, 3 Hits, 1 Walk (Win)
  • Kyle Bradish (vs. PIT) 7.0 Innings, 6 Strikeouts, 1 Earned Run, 4 Hits, 2 Walks (No Decision)
  • Payton Tolle (Limited Start @ATH) 2.0 Innings, 2 Strikeouts, 2 Earned Runs, 3 Hits, 0 Walks (No Decision)
  • Ian Seymour (@CWS) 5.1 Innings, 5 Strikeouts, 3 Earned Runs, 5 Hits, 2 Walks (Loss)

Total: 20.0 Innings, 17 Strikeouts, 6 Earned Runs, 15 Hits, 5 Walks (1-1)

The second-to-last week of the season has yielded solid performances. Kyle Bradish excelled, and only Payton Tolle was disappointing because of a surprise limited workload. Let’s look for low-risk streamers to end the season.

For one last time, and without further delay, below are my picks for pitchers to stream during Week 25, from Monday, September 15th through Sunday, September 21st.

Fantasy Baseball Streaming Pitchers

Monday, September 15th

Tyler Wells (SP – BAL) @ CWS | 9% Rostered

Tyler Wells looks excellent in his first two starts since returning from a June 2024 elbow surgery. The Orioles righty has allowed only three runs in his first 11.2 innings. He sports a spectacular 2.31 ERA and a 0.60 WHIP in this small sample size.

Wells will face the White Sox, who have the third-worst team OPS (.684). Stream the 31-year-old for the final stretch of the playoffs.

Alternative: Sean Burke (SP – CWS) vs. BAL | 2% Rostered

Tuesday, September 16th

Jameson Taillon (SP – CHC) @ PIT | 19% Rostered

Jameson Taillon looks great after missing all of July and most of August due to two trips to the injured list (IL). The injury-plagued starter is finally healthy, and he is a good streaming option against the Pirates, who have the worst OPS in baseball.

Taillon should be a good option for ratios, but he may not go very far into the game. He threw just 79 pitches in his most recent start on September 10th, and is not a reliable quality start option as a result. Start Taillon in leagues where you need ratios, not distance.

Alternative: Joey Cantillo (SP – CLE) @ DET | 3% Rostered

Wednesday, September 17th

Cade Povich (SP – BAL) @ CWS | 2% Rostered

Let me preface this section by saying that Cade Povich is not the best option this week. It is important to be cautious in the fantasy playoffs. Other days of the week offer better pitchers, at least on paper. Despite this, Povich should be a solid option against the 56-90 White Sox.

Povich is not necessarily a good streamer because he is good, but because the White Sox are bad. Povich has a frightening ERA of 5.05 and a WHP of 1.45, but an encouraging K/9 ratio of 9.7. Consider streaming Povich as a source of strikeouts against the White Sox.

Alternative: Ryan Weathers (SP – MIA) @ COL | 3% Rostered

Thursday, September 18th

Max Scherzer (SP – TOR) @ TB | 23% Rostered

The 41-year-old Max Scherzer has still got it. In some ways. The three-time Cy Young winner is not quite the pitcher he once was, likely because of age and recent injuries, but he remains a solid streaming option. Scherzer has a 4.36 ERA this season, alongside a 1.16 WHIP and an 8.5 K/9 ratio. Stream the veteran against the Rays for strikeouts.

Alternative: Colin Rea (SP – CHC) @ CIN | 9% Rostered

Friday, September 19th

Luis Severino (SP – ATH) @ PIT | 17% Rostered

Luis Severino has settled in as an Athletic after a rough spring and early summer. Severino had an ERA of 5.16 from the beginning of the season to the halfway point. Since mid-July, Severino has had a glimmering ERA of 3.00 and a K/9 ratio of 9.0.

Severino has returned to his usual form recently, and he has a perfect opportunity as he lines up against the Pirates, who perhaps have the worst offense in baseball.

Alternative: Caden Dana (SP – LAA) @ COL | 0% Rostered

Saturday, September 20th

Brandon Sproat (SP – NYM) vs. WSH | 9% Rostered

Brandon Sproat is yet another exciting young Mets pitcher. The 24-year-old rookie earned a quality start in his debut appearance versus the Reds, tossing six innings of three-run ball. He struck out seven. Sproat has a 9.3 K/9 ratio in the minors, and his fastball touches 100. Stream him against the Nationals.

Alternative: Noah Cameron (SP – KC) vs. TOR | 28% Rostered

Sunday, September 21st

Jose Quintana (SP – MIL) @ STL | 17% Rostered

Jose Quintana is having yet another solid season. The consistently good veteran does not get many strikeouts, but he continues to be a good ratio performer. Quintana has a 3.88 ERA this season and a 1.23 WHIP in 127.2 innings.

Quintana faces the Cardinals, who have the fifth-worst OPS in the league. He is a high-floor, low-ceiling streaming option to close out the season.

Alternative: Kyle Bradish (SP – BAL) vs. NYY | 18% Rostered
