3 Bold Predictions for Week 8 (2025 Fantasy Football)

I haven’t had a banner year with my bold predictions. Nevertheless, I bounced back from a bagel in Week 6, with one of my bold predictions coming to fruition in Week 7. My season ledger now sits at 4-17. There’s time for me to improve my batting average on fantasy football bold predictions, and I’ll attempt to do so this week.

Week 8 Fantasy Football Bold Predictions

Medium

Chimere Dike Will Outscore Elic Ayomanor

Elic Ayomanor generated some early-season buzz, and the rookie wide receiver is the WR42 in this week’s expert consensus rankings (ECR). Meanwhile, fellow rookie Chimere Dike had nine receptions for 26 scoreless yards and six rush attempts for 15 scoreless yards through Week 6.

The Titans actually picked Dike before Ayomanor in the 2025 NFL Draft, and the tide might be turning for the rookies after Dike exploded for four receptions, 70 receiving yards and a touchdown last week. Ayomanor has just 74 scoreless yards on seven receptions in the previous three weeks combined.

According to the Fantasy Points data suite, Dike’s 30.4% air yards share last week was a team high on a 66.7% route participation rate in Mike McCoy’s debut as the club’s interim head coach. Dike had an 80.8% slot rate, and he should be the primary beneficiary of the team releasing Tyler Lockett. Lockett had a 23.1% route participation rate and 66.7% slot rate in Week 7.

The Colts are tied for facing the sixth-highest slot target rate (34.4%) this season. Dike should build on last week’s outburst and outscore Ayomanor. Dike is a defensible bye-week fill-in for gamers in deeper formats.

Hot

Tyler Allgeier Will Score at Least 10 Half-PPR Points

Tyler Allgeier has reached double-digit half-point per reception (half-PPR) points in three games this year, doing so in Week 2, Week 4 and Week 6. It’s another even week. Therefore, Allgeier will score double-digit half-PPR points this week. Case closed.

Joking aside, Atlanta’s bruising runner has scored at least 10 half-PPR points in each of Atlanta’s three victories, and they’re 7.5-point favorites against the pitiful Dolphins this week. According to RotoViz’s pace app, excluding the final two minutes of the first half, the Falcons have had a 55% rush rate on 177 plays when leading by at least three points. There’s meat on the bone for Bijan Robinson to trample the Dolphins and for Allgeier to get his against a Charmin-soft defense.

Since Week 4, the Dolphins have surrendered an NFL-high 170 rushing yards per game, 5.76 yards per carry and five rushing touchdowns. So, while we project Allgeier to score only 6.5 half-PPR points this week, I’ll boldly declare he reaches at least 10.

Atomic

Troy Franklin Will Finish as a Top-24 WR in Half-PPR Formats

Troy Franklin is tied for the WR44 in half-PPR points per game (8.0) this season. He was the WR8 in Week 2 and the WR23 in Week 7, which were his only two finishes as a top-24 receiver this season.

The second-year pro is the WR34 in ECR. I’m more bullish on Franklin’s outlook this week. According to the Fantasy Points data suite, Franklin is the WR26 in half-PPR expected points per game (13.7) this season and is tied for the WR15 in half-PPR expected points per game (14.7) since Week 4.

Franklin has a mouthwatering matchup this week. The Cowboys have allowed the most half-PPR points per game (34.1) to wide receivers this season. Gamers who need some help at wide receiver or in their Flex during a busy bye week should turn their attention to Franklin, where he’s available. He should finish as a top-24 wideout this week in a cushy matchup if he performs closer to his expected stats this week.
