We have learned a lot in the first five weeks of the season, so we can use that to inform our lineup decisions. The best way to do so is to focus on the matchup, consider the game script and compare your thoughts with FantasyPros’ expert consensus rankings (ECR).
You’ll find three fantasy football booms to start and three busts to bench for Week 6. We need to balance what we’ve learned in the first five weeks while not overreacting as we head into the sixth week of the season. With that in mind, let’s make those lineup decisions easier for you in Week 6.

Fantasy Football Week 6 Start/Sit Advice
Fantasy Football Boom Starts
Tetairoa McMillan (WR – CAR)
Tetairoa McMillan has displayed alpha No. 1 WR traits throughout his first five games, putting up a 25% target share and 42% air yards share. But that has translated into underwhelming production so far, as the Panthers rookie currently ranks as the WR32 in fantasy points per game.
However, there’s a good chance that we see a spike week against the Cowboys’ league-worst defense this week. Carolina has a 23-point implied total in Week 6, which is higher than usual for them. Expect Bryce Young to have some success and pepper McMillan with targets.
Marvin Harrison Jr. (WR – ARI)
Marvin Harrison Jr. is coming off consecutive strong games, combining for 10 catches for 164 yards and a touchdown during this stretch. With Kyler Murray looking unlikely to play, that leaves Jacoby Brissett as the fill-in starter for the Cardinals.
Don’t be surprised if the veteran locks onto Harrison as his clear-cut No. 1 target. This game against the Colts means a little more for Harrison as well, as it was his father’s team throughout his career. I can see another 100+ yard game here.
Brian Thomas Jr. (WR – JAX)
Brian Thomas Jr. has been one of the biggest fantasy busts of the season, but he’s coming off his biggest game of the year against the Chiefs, where he caught four of his six targets for 80 yards.
There’s a good chance Thomas can build on this performance against a pass-funnel Seahawks defense that is dealing with injuries in their secondary.
Fantasy Football Bust Sits
Garrett Wilson (WR – NYJ)
Garrett Wilson is surprisingly averaging 15.7 fantasy points per game this season, which ranks as the WR6 in half-PPR formats. However, up next is a matchup against an elite cornerback in Pat Surtain II.
The Jets have an 18-point implied total here, so we need to temper our expectations on Wilson. I wouldn’t necessarily sit him, but I’m prepared for a floor week.
Jaylen Warren (RB – PIT)
Jaylen Warren looks poised to return to the Steelers’ lineup this week, but it’s right on time against a brick wall of a defense in the Browns.
There’s also an outside chance that Kenneth Gainwell could be more involved than usual after he had such a great game in Week 4, before the Steelers’ bye. Warren will have to get there through the air rather than on the ground in this one.
Travis Etienne Jr. (RB – JAX)
Travis Etienne is having a terrific season, but up next is a tough matchup against a Seahawks run defense ranked third in rushing expected points added (EPA).
Don’t be surprised if we see an inefficient game on the ground in this one. Etienne likely needs to find the end zone to make an impact in fantasy this week.
