NBA DraftKings & FanDuel DFS Primer
NBA DFS Core Plays
- DraftKings: $9,100
- FanDuel: $9,000
In an Eastern Conference matchup against the Milwaukee Bucks that figures to be high scoring, consider starting Donovan Mitchell as a core player in your DFS lineup.
Mitchell has been a fantasy stud through two games so far, with at least 35 minutes in each, stats across all categories and surprisingly efficient shooting. Cleveland’s star guard should get plenty of shot attempts here and opportunities to contribute at a much lower cost to you than Luka Doncic‘s hefty $12,000 price tag.
- DraftKings: $9,000
- FanDuel: $8,900
LaMelo Ball is off to a great start to begin the young season and even flirted with a triple-double against the 76ers last night. Today’s matchup against the Washington Wizards should be a good chance for all the Hornets stars to pad their stats.
It’s an exciting opportunity for Ball, as the Wizards have historically struggled to defend the three-point shot. Ball missed a few back-to-backs last season, so keep an eye on the injury report before today’s 6:00 p.m. ET tip-off.
- DraftKings: $9,000
- FanDuel: $8,800
Domantas Sabonis looked pretty good in his season debut, notching 12 points on 6-of-9 shooting with 12 rebounds and a game-winning shot to secure the Kings’ first win.
Although buzzer beaters don’t count for DFS, look for Sabonis to expand on that performance with a matchup against the Lakers and center Deandre Ayton, who has shown inconsistent defensive ability throughout his career.

NBA DFS Value Plays
- DraftKings: $5,000
- FanDuel: $5,100
When Miami matches up with New York, Knicks rim protector Mitchell Robinson will still not be healthy enough to make his season debut. Kel’el Ware should be able to get to the basket and find plenty of ways to contribute in this game.
Ware caught the attention of NBA fans last year with his standout rookie campaign and could be a sneaky DFS play here with his low cost and potential for at least a double-double.
- DraftKings: $3,400
- FanDuel: $4,300
Despite coming off the bench in two games for Indiana, Jarace Walker has worked his way to big minutes and a solid sixth man role for the Pacers.
Although he didn’t shoot well in last night’s matchup with Memphis, his 11+ shots per game so far and rebounding ability could provide a nice lift to your DFS lineup at the bottom of the barrel.
- DraftKings: $6,500
- FanDuel: $7,100
Kyshawn George has been outstanding through two games so far this season, performing well above his expected output with a total of 55 points, 20 rebounds, eight assists, three steals, five blocks and 10 made three-pointers.
These incredible numbers for the second year forward are very likely to come down at some point, but until that happens, George seems like a must-add to all DFS lineups, especially at his current cost.
