Fantasy Football Injuries to Know for Week 13
Jaxson Dart (QB – NYG)
Jaxson Dart (concussion) cleared the concussion protocol.
Jaxson Dart looks ready to return for the Giants, as he cleared concussion protocol on Thursday. The question now becomes, with the Giants out of contention, will they pull back the reins on their rookie franchise quarterback? In other words, will they ask Dart to run at a lower rate to reduce the risk of further injury? That’s my concern here.
Baker Mayfield (QB – TB)
Baker Mayfield (shoulder) is still unclear for Week 13.
Baker Mayfield is at risk of missing Week 13, as Teddy Bridgewater has been taking first-team reps this week. Even if Mayfield plays, it’s clear he’s not 100%, which has impacted his production. With that in mind, leave Mayfield on your bench, even if he’s able to suit up.
Aaron Rodgers (QB – PIT)
Aaron Rodgers (wrist) is likely to return in Week 13.
Aaron Rodgers is likely to get back in action in Week 13 after missing last week’s loss against the Bears. It’s a huge game at home against the Bills, as the Steelers are fighting for the AFC North crown. With how competitive the AFC is, it’s unlikely Pittsburgh will make it if they don’t win the division. Rodgers isn’t usable in fantasy, though.
Devin Neal (RB – NO)
Devin Neal (ankle) was limited at practice.
Devin Neal is a bit banged up with an ankle issue, but his status doesn’t appear to be in jeopardy for the upcoming matchup against the Dolphins. With Alvin Kamara out, expect Neal to handle a heavy workload for the Saints. However, it’s worth noting that the Dolphins’ defense looks much improved lately.
Kenneth Walker III (RB – SEA)
Kenneth Walker III (glute) was limited at practice.
It’s good news that Kenneth Walker hasn’t missed practice with his glute issue, especially since he’s starting to out-snap Zach Charbonnet more often. As the more elusive back, Walker offers much more big-play ability than Charbonnet. You can fire up Walker as an upside Flex play versus the Vikings this week, but you may want to look away in the red zone when Charbonnet comes in.
Omarion Hampton (RB – LAC)
Omarion Hampton (ankle) was limited at practice.
Omarion Hampton’s return to practice has me feeling hopeful that he’ll be ready for action against the Raiders. However, if Hampton does play, there’s a legit chance he’ll have a more managed workload. That means more of a committee with Kimani Vidal, so temper your expectations.
Brian Thomas Jr. (WR – JAX)
Brian Thomas Jr. (ankle) was limited at practice.
Fantasy football’s biggest bust of the year looks ready to get back in the Jaguars lineup, just in time for a matchup versus the Titans. I’m not considering Thomas as anything more than a low-end WR3 in his first game back. Simply put, he hasn’t gotten it done in Liam Coen’s offense, and now Jakobi Meyers is there to take away targets.
Darren Waller (TE – MIA)
Darren Waller (pec) was limited at practice.
Darren Waller is getting closer to a return, which would be huge news for an improving Dolphins team. We saw what Waller was able to do in Mike McDaniel’s offense earlier this year. If you have room on your roster, pick up Waller because there’s a lot of late-season upside here.
