The tight end position matters greatly in fantasy football. Tight ends are not as flashy as their route-running counterparts at wide receiver. Most of them do not normally get the same volume of touches as fantasy-relevant running backs. That can sometimes lead to them being overlooked or treated as an afterthought. Do not make that mistake.
The tight end pool is the shallowest of them all in terms of fantasy. Finding production there weekly can be incredibly challenging, especially for those who did not invest in one of the top options during draft season.
One way to find success at the position is by carefully playing the waiver wire week-to-week. The goal of this weekly article is to help fantasy managers do just that by finding low-rostered tight ends in the best situations for that particular week.

Week 11 Fantasy Football Tight End Streamers & Waiver Wire Pickups
The following tight ends are rostered in fewer than 75% of Yahoo! leagues.
Zach Ertz (TE – WSH) at MIA | 69% Rostered
With the injury to Jayden Daniels (elbow) and the Commanders’ overall struggles on offense recently, Zach Ertz’s rostered rate has fallen off a bit. That presents an interesting opportunity to snatch up the veteran tight end heading into a matchup with the Dolphins. Ertz caught four passes for the third consecutive game this past Sunday, finishing with his second-highest yardage total (54) of the season.
Pro-Bowl wide receiver Terry McLaurin (quad) has already been ruled out for the matchup with Miami, which should ensure Ertz sees ample targets once again. The Dolphins’ defense is tied for second-worst in the NFL with seven touchdowns allowed to opposing tight ends. Ertz, who has four scores on the campaign, has a decent chance to find his way back into the end zone for the first time since Week 7.
Pat Freiermuth (TE – PIT) vs. CIN | 11% Rostered
The last time Pat Freiermuth went up against the division-rival Bengals, back in Week 7 of this season, he exploded for 111 yards and a pair of touchdowns on five receptions. No one should expect a repeat of that, but the Bengals’ defense is atrocious (33.3 points per game) and has allowed a whopping 12 touchdowns to the tight end position.

Since that ridiculous performance against the Bengals, Freiermuth has caught three passes in three consecutive games, adding another touchdown in a victory over the Colts a couple of weeks ago. He is typically only on the field for about half of the offensive snaps, sharing time with teammates Jonnu Smith and Darnell Washington. When Freiermuth is out there, however, Aaron Rodgers looks his way for big plays.
Noah Fant (TE – CIN) at PIT | 3% Rostered
For deeper leagues, Noah Fant is an option on the opposite sideline of Pat Freiermuth and the Steelers. Similar to Freiermuth, Fant hit paydirt in the previous matchup between the AFC North foes, coming up with four grabs for 44 yards in the contest. He scored again in Week 9 against the Bears and comes in rested off a bye this week.

Fant is not a volume play whatsoever, but he has definite red-zone potential and strong chemistry with quarterback Joe Flacco. The two have connected on 13 passes over the last four games since Flacco took over the offense for the Bengals, with Fant having multiple receptions on a minimum of three passes thrown his way each week. Fant should find a few openings against the Steelers’ bottom-ranked pass defense once again.
