NBA DFS Core Plays
Tyrese Maxey (PG -PHI)
- DraftKings: $9,900
- FanDuel: $10,300
VJ Edgecombe is questionable, and Tyrese Maxey should continue to carry a massive scoring load for Philadelphia tonight. This matchup is projected to stay tight with a 1.5-point spread and a healthy 233.5 total, giving Maxey plenty of runway for volume and ceiling in a high-paced, high-scoring environment.
Quentin Grimes led the team in shot attempts against Brooklyn on Friday, but his 8-20 shooting night might suggest the shot attempts will lean more toward Maxey in this contest. Maxey also has great averages against the Hawks with 25.0 points, 7.6 assists, and 4.0 rebounds in his last 5 games against them.
Donovan Mitchell (SG – CLE)
- DraftKings: $9,300
- FanDuel: $9,300
Donovan Mitchell will be one of the only surefire bucket-getters for the Cleveland Cavaliers tonight, with key rotation pieces like Sam Merrill, Lonzo Ball, Larry Nance Jr. and Jarrett Allen all unavailable due to injury. That leaves Mitchell shouldering a major portion of the scoring and playmaking load — exactly where he thrives.
Mitchell has been on fire lately and dropped 42 points in his most recent outing, showing his upside remains elite when he gets volume and touches. Mitchell is a high-ceiling core option that fits the salary spend on a slate with limited alternatives.
NBA DFS Cash Game Targets
Shai Gilgeous-Alexander (PG – OKC)
- DraftKings: $10,900
- FanDuel: $10,900
SGA is one of the most expensive players on the slate for tonight, but this matchup against Portland is too good to pass up for cash game targets. The Trailblazers rank around 25th in the league with a defensive rating of roughly 115.2 points allowed per 100 possessions.
Shai has been a fantasy stud all season long, and his counterpart, Jalen Williams, is still trying to find himself offensively in his second game back from wrist surgery. Roster SGA tonight for a great chance to finish in the top half of your DFS pool.
Jalen Johnson (PF- ATL)
- DraftKings: $10,100
- FanDuel: $10,400
Jalen Johnson isn’t the cheapest option on tonight’s slate, but the matchup against a severely shorthanded 76ers squad is too strong to overlook for cash games and tournaments. As mentioned above, Philadelphia is dealing with a long injury list, leaving their defense noticeably weakened in the frontcourt and on the wing.
Johnson has been a steady fantasy force this season, and his recent history against the Sixers only strengthens the case. In his last five meetings with Philadelphia, he’s averaged 12.8 points, 8.8 rebounds, and 3.8 assists — and he’s a far more polished and featured player now than he was in those matchups. With the Sixers missing key defensive anchors, Johnson is positioned for a high-usage, high-efficiency night.
NBA DFS GPP Targets
Robert Williams III (C – POR)
- DraftKings: $3,700
- FanDuel: $4,500
Here is a DFS situation where keeping an eye on the injury report is essential. Robert Williams III has been eased back into action due to his lengthy injury history, but when he’s on the floor, the per-minute production is always elite — rebounds, blocks, putbacks, and hyper-efficient scoring.
Tonight becomes especially interesting with starting center Donovan Clingan listed as questionable due to an illness. If Clingan is limited or ruled out, Williams could see an expanded role in a frontcourt that desperately needs his rim protection and energy. Even in shorter stints, he’s shown the ability to rack up fantasy points quickly with his defensive stats and elite field-goal percentage.
Dean Wade (SF – CLE)
- DraftKings: $3,800
- FanDuel: $3,800
With the Cavaliers still battling a long list of injuries, someone from the bench has to step up — and Dean Wade is one of the most likely candidates to soak up extra minutes and usage. Wade has shown he can contribute across multiple categories when given real run, offering a mix of rebounding, spot-up shooting, and defensive activity that translates well to DFS value at a low salary.
Cleveland’s second unit is stretched thin, and Wade’s versatility keeps him on the floor in a variety of lineups, especially when the Cavs need stability. He may not carry a massive ceiling, but on a slate where value is scarce, Wade stands out as a viable salary-saver with a clear path to meaningful minutes.
NBA DFS Value Plays
Adem Bona (C – PHI)
- DraftKings: $4,100
- FanDuel: $5,000
This will be an interesting DFS play to watch the injury report for. Bona played 23 minutes off the bench in the Sixers’ latest matchup against Brooklyn, where he notched 13 points, 6 rebounds and 3 blocks with an efficient 6 of 7 from the field.
Now we’ve learned that Embiid is out again and Andre Drummond may be limited or not play at all due to a knee injury of his own. Even if Drummond is active, consider Adem Bona to help give your lineup a low-cost, high-ceiling boom.
Dominick Barlow (C – PHI)
- DraftKings: $4,500
- FanDuel: $5,000
Dominick Barlow delivered with a double-double in Philadelphia’s last matchup against Brooklyn, flashing energy on the glass and efficiency around the rim — exactly the kind of per-minute upside that makes him appealing as a salary-saver.
Barlow has shown he can produce quickly in a secondary role and could be in line for another bump in minutes. If you’re searching for low-cost value with real ceiling, consider Dominick Barlow as a potential boom play should the frontcourt rotation thin out again.
