Fantasy Football Waiver Wire Pickups & Stashes: WRs & TEs

With Week 14 behind us, it’s time to look ahead to Week 15 and which players we should look to pick up at the wide receiver and tight end positions off the fantasy football waiver wire.

Also, with Week 14 in the rear-view mirror, so too are bye weeks. See below for my top pickups and stashes ahead of Week 15.

Fantasy Football Waiver Wire Targets & Stashes

All players listed below are rostered in 30% or fewer of Yahoo! leagues.

WR Handcuffs, Targets & Stashes

Devaughn Vele (WR – NO) | 19% Rostered

Over the last three weeks, Devaughn Vele is tied for second on the team in target share (20.6%) with tight end Juwan Johnson and only behind fellow wide receiver Chris Olave.

In that span, Vele has caught 14 of his 20 targets for 170 yards and a touchdown, finishing as the WR16 in that span. He’s worth a stash for a playoff run.

Kayshon Boutte (WR – NE) | 29% Rostered

Kayshon Boutte has been up and down a bit lately, but in Week 13, he caught a touchdown against the Giants. The Patriots play the Buffalo Bills, Baltimore Ravens and New York Jets to finish off the fantasy season.

The Bills are allowing 0.92 touchdowns per game to wide receivers, and the Ravens are giving up 157.69 yards per outing to the position. Boutte could be a key cog in a playoff run with quarterback Drake Maye throwing him passes.

Chimere Dike (WR – TEN) | 15% Rostered

The Titans’ passing game isn’t great by any means, but over the last three weeks, Chimere Dike has led the team in target share (19.4%), catching 11 of his 19 targets for 76 yards and two touchdowns. Over that span, he’s caught five passes in two out of three games.

Ryan Flournoy (WR – DAL) | 1% Rostered

Ryan Flournoy caught three passes for 34 yards in Week 13 and followed that up with a massive Week 14 performance, catching nine of his 13 targets for 115 yards and a touchdown.

Fellow wide receiver CeeDee Lamb suffered a concussion in Week 14, meaning he could miss Week 15 against the Minnesota Vikings, opening up more potential touches for Flournoy.

Pat Bryant (WR – DEN) | 3% Rostered

Pat Bryant has just one touchdown this season, but over the last three games, he’s caught 12 passes on 17 targets for 156 yards.

If you’re in a PPR league, Bryant isn’t a terrible Flex option in deeper leagues.

Jalen Coker (WR – CAR) | 4% Rostered

Over the Panthers’ last three games, Jalen Coker is third on the team in target share (15.4%), catching 11 out of 14 targets for 158 yards and a touchdown.

From Weeks 11 to 13 (the Panthers had a Week 14 bye), Coker was the fantasy WR20, averaging 11.6 points per game. Take advantage of Panthers quarterback Bryce Young playing well right now.

Coker has a decent schedule coming up, taking on the New Orleans Saints and Tampa Bay Buccaneers, and will likely face the Seattle Seahawks in a shootout.

Luther Burden III (WR – CHI) | 17% Rostered

The Bears’ offense has many pass-catching weapons, but over their last three games, Luther Burden leads the team in target share (18.9%), catching 11 out of 17 targets for 146 yards.

Burden hasn’t scored a touchdown since Week 3 (his only score this season), while Colston Loveland and DJ Moore have two touchdowns each in the past three games. Burden is a WR3 and a respectable Flex play in PPR leagues.

TE Handcuffs, Targets & Stashes

Mike Gesicki (TE – CIN) | 2% Rostered

Since Joe Burrow returned, Mike Gesicki has caught eight passes for 105 yards and a score. The bulk of that production came in Week 14 against the Bills, catching six passes for 86 yards and a touchdown.

That game was certainly a shootout, but Gesicki has some good matchups coming up against the Miami Dolphins and Arizona Cardinals.

Mason Taylor (TE – NYJ) | 24% Rostered

Mason Taylor has seen five targets or more in two of his last three games. In the Jets’ Week 14 loss to the Dolphins, he caught five passes on eight targets for 51 yards. Of course, the team is dealing with injuries to Justin Fields and Tyrod Taylor, which could lead to Brady Cook under center.

Catching passes from Cook could limit Taylor’s upside, but let’s face it, the Jets’ quarterback play has been so bad, the difference isn’t that significant. Taylor has some solid matchups coming up against the Jaguars, Patriots and Saints.
