1. Who will be the Tigers’ closer with Kenley Jansen sidelined?

Kenley Jansen was placed on the injured list (IL) with pelvic inflammation. Since this is a veteran, we could see the Tigers take a conservative approach with him.

I’m expecting to see a committee in Jansen’s absence, with Will Vest and Kyle Finnegan getting the save opportunities. This feels like a situation to avoid in fantasy baseball.

2. What should you do with Fernando Tatis Jr.?

It’s getting crazy now. We’re almost into June, and Fernando Tatis Jr. still hasn’t hit a home run. That’s 231 plate appearances. So what should you do with him?

I know this is a boring answer, but you have no choice but to ride it out. It’s inadvisable to sell such a talented player at a rock-bottom price.

3. What’s going on with Vladimir Guerrero Jr.?

Like Fernando Tatis Jr., Vladimir Guerrero Jr. has been quite disappointing, slashing .293/.392/.377 with three home runs in 227 plate appearances.

It’s been a power outage for Guerrero, but at least he’s been an asset in the batting average department. Just as with Tatis, you have to hold out hope rather than abandon ship.

4. Who is the next impactful prospect to get called up?

I’m betting that we’ll see Joshua Baez up with the Cardinals sooner rather than later. He is a dynamic outfielder with a ton of power and speed upside.

While Bryan Torres has performed well since being recalled, Baez has a higher ceiling. It’s only a matter of time before the rebuilding Cardinals crash back to Earth, so they’ll want to showcase their young talent.

5. What to expect from Jared Jones?

Jared Jones is ready to return for the Pirates. He’s looked sharp in his rehab assignments so far. Think about how many pitchers returning from injury have excelled. Just look at Zack Wheeler, Shane McClanahan, and Gerrit Cole.

Perhaps it’s a new era, where advancements in recovery and rehab have allowed pitchers to return to form more quickly than ever. In other words, I’m optimistic about Jones going forward.

6. Who is the closer for the Giants?

The Giants are another messy situation to deal with in fantasy baseball. After Ryan Walker struggled, it’s a bit unclear who the main closer is, but my money is on Caleb Kilian.

The only problem is that manager Tony Vitello will deploy Kilian in unconventional ways, so he won’t get every save opportunity.

7. What to expect from Jackson Holliday?

Jackson Holliday is worth a dart throw if he were dropped in your league because second base is such a thin position, and he’s a former elite prospect.

You have to love how he already has one home run and two stolen bases since returning to the lineup. There’s a legit chance that he can play at a 20-20 pace for the rest of the season.

8. Where will Tarik Skubal get traded?

The Tigers are off to an abysmal start, so it’s becoming more likely that they’ll trade Tarik Skubal to get some assets for him in his free agency year.

Initially, I would have predicted the Mets as his top trade suitor, but they’ve been awful. If not them, I’d go with the Braves, who have dominated this season. Imagine Skubal with Chris Sale and Spencer Strider?

9. Should you hold Angel Martinez?

Angel Martinez is a streaky hitter who has come out of nowhere. But remember that we have to consider the ebbs and flows of a long season.

Don’t be hasty in dropping a potential breakout just because of a cold streak. The fact is, Martinez is a second baseman with nine home runs and eight stolen bases. You have to give him some leeway when he slumps.

10. Where is Corbin Carroll‘s power?

Corbin Carroll only has seven home runs so far this season, but he’s slashing .293/.392/.553 with a 13.6% barrel rate and a 48.6% hard-hit rate.

It’s only a matter of time before Carroll goes on a power binge. Don’t worry about him moving forward. Perhaps put out an offer to see if you can steal him from your league mate.
