Tuesday’s Starting Pitcher Rankings (5/5)
George Kirby (SP – SEA) vs. Atlanta Braves
George Kirby is off to a rock-solid start in 2026. According to FanGraphs, he’s tallied the following numbers in seven starts spanning 45 innings:
- 4 wins
- 4 quality starts
- 3.00 ERA
- 2.85 xERA
- 3.83 xFIP
- 3.85 SIERA
- 1.13 WHIP
- 6.2% walk rate
- 19.1% strikeout rate
- 10.1% SwStr%
- 25% CSW%
- 99 stuff+
- 113 location+
- 111 pitching+
The Braves have excelled on offense this year, but Ronald Acuna Jr. is on the injured list (IL), and Michael Harris II is dealing with a quad injury that sidelined him last night, leaving him listed as day-to-day. Thus, the Mariners are -150 favorites, and the game’s total is eight runs.
Logan Webb (SP – SFG) vs. San Diego Padres
Logan Webb is a tall order for lineups visiting Oracle Park. In 135 innings at home since last season, San Francisco’s ace has had a 3.33 ERA, 2.81 xFIP, 1.25 WHIP, 4.8% walk rate and 25.1% strikeout rate.
Webb has a decent matchup tonight. The Padres are tied for 15th in wRC+ (99) with a 22.3% strikeout rate versus righties and rank 21st in wRC+ (85) with a 25.3% strikeout rate on the road this season. The game’s total isn’t listed at the time of writing, but the Giants are slight favorites (-108).
Jameson Taillon (SP – CHC) vs. Cincinnati Reds
Jameson Taillon is another hurler on this slate with favorable home splits. In 75.2 innings at home since last year, Taillon has spun a 3.21 ERA, 3.85 xFIP, 1.00 WHIP, 6.4% walk rate and 22.9% strikeout rate.
Taillon’s DFS value gets a bump from a favorable matchup and encouraging betting info. The Reds are 26th in wRC+ (89) with a 24.4% strikeout rate versus righties and are tied for 27th in wRC+ (76) with a 24.1% strikeout rate on the road this season. Additionally, the Cubs are -165 favorites, and the game’s total is eight runs.
Suggested Lineup Stacks
- Road (Coors Field)
- Game Total/Moneyline: 10.0 Runs/NYM -172
Michael Lorenzen has a 6.09 ERA and 5.55 xERA in eight appearances (seven starts) this season. Since last season, Lorenzen has yielded a .369 wOBA to lefties and a .336 wOBA to righties. He should be exactly what the Mets need for an offensive outburst in the hitting paradise of Coors Field.
- Home (Oracle Park)
- Game Total/Moneyline: Unlisted/SF -108
The Mets are 29th in wRC+ (81) against righties this year, and the Giants are 30th in wRC+ (79) against them. What could go wrong with suggesting the two worst offenses in baseball against righties as the top stacks?
Snark aside, Walker Buehler remains an unqualified rotation option. He has a 5.40 ERA and 4.87 xERA in six starts this year, lasting only 25 innings. Buehler is an especially favorable matchup for the lefties and switch-hitters in San Francisco’s lineup, as Buehler has coughed up a .364 wOBA to 383 left-handed batters since 2025.
