Friday’s Starting Pitcher Rankings (6/12)
Jacob Misiorowski (SP – MIL) vs. Philadelphia Phillies
Jacob Misiorowski is going off this year. According to FanGraphs, among 65 qualified pitchers in 2026, Misiorowski is first in ERA (1.50), first in xERA (2.24), first in xFIP (2.21), first in SIERA (2.28), first in WHIP (0.81) and first in strikeout rate (38.4%). His pitch modeling and plate discipline are also off-the-charts good.
The flame-throwing righty has a sweet matchup and equally sweet betting info. The Phillies are 26th in wRC+ (90) with a 23.2% strikeout rate versus righties and 30th in wRC+ (75) with a 23.7% strikeout rate on the road in 2026. The Brewers are commanding -250 favorites, and the game’s total is eight runs.
Roki Sasaki (SP – LAD) at Chicago White Sox
The Roki Sasaki breakout is happening, and it’s glorious. In his past six starts spanning 35.1 innings, Sasaki has whipped up the following stats:
- 2 wins
- 3 quality starts
- 2.55 ERA
- 3.07 xERA
- 3.12 xFIP
- 3.11 SIERA
- 0.91 WHIP
- 5.8% walk rate
- 27.3% strikeout rate
- 14.2% SwStr%
- 29% CSW%
- 108 stuff+
- 105 location+
- 114 pitching+
Sasaki’s matchup doesn’t look easy at a glance. The White Sox are tied for 10th in wRC+ (104) with a 23.9% strikeout rate versus righties and ninth in wRC+ (109) with a 21.6% strikeout rate at home this year.
However, Chicago is tied for 22nd in wRC+ (87) with a 25.2% strikeout rate in the previous 30 days. In addition, Munetaka Murakami is on the injured list (IL). Sasaki is catching the White Sox at the right time, and with that being the case, the Dodgers are -138 favorites, and the game’s total is 8.5 runs.
Jack Flaherty (SP – DET) at Cleveland Guardians
Jack Flaherty is flawed, as evidenced by his 5.31 ERA over 14 starts totaling 62.2 innings in 2026. However, his 4.56 xERA, 4.41 xFIP and 4.08 SIERA aren’t as disastrous, even if they aren’t impressive, either.
Flaherty’s 5.02 ERA over his past six starts is also ugly, but again, his 4.27 xERA, 3.47 xFIP and 3.39 SIERA are more flattering representations of his work. Most importantly, Flaherty has a 26.3% strikeout rate in 2026 and a 26.7% strikeout rate in his previous six starts. His strikeout rate is tailor-made for GPPs, where Flaherty is a compelling SP2 on DraftKings.
Flaherty’s matchup and betting info are adequate, too. The Guardians are tied for 22nd in wRC+ (93) with a 20.6% strikeout rate versus righties and tied for 17th in wRC+ (99) with a 20.5% strikeout rate at home this season. Cleveland is also tied for 17th in wRC+ (96) with a 23% strikeout rate in the previous 30 days. Finally, the Tigers are -110, and the game’s total is 8.5 runs.
Suggested Lineup Stacks
- Home (Las Vegas Ballpark)
- Game Total/Moneyline: 13.5 Runs/ATH -178
The Athletics should tee off in Las Vegas against a non-MLB-caliber starting pitcher tonight. Zach Agnos has a 7.65 ERA, 5.82 xERA, 5.27 xFIP, 4.82 SIERA and 1.60 WHIP in 40 innings, split between 15 relief appearances and two starts.
Agnos was a punching bag last year as well. He has ceded a .363 wOBA to lefties and a .381 wOBA to righties since 2025. The Rockies are also 30th in bullpen ERA (5.20) this season.
- Home (Kauffman Stadium)
- Game Total/Moneyline: 9.5 Runs/KC EVEN
The Royals are a bargain stack, which is helpful given that Jacob Misiorowski commands a substantial salary-cap hit. Kansas City draws Tatsuya Imai tonight, the owner of a 5.24 ERA, 4.72 xERA, 4.55 xFIP and 4.75 SIERA in eight starts for the Astros.
The righty has tied up right-handed batters for a .268 wOBA, but he’s permitted a .358 wOBA to lefties. As a result, Kansas City’s left-handed batters and switch-hitters are their most appealing stacking options.
However, Bobby Witt Jr.‘s upside also makes him an appealing addition to stacks. The Royals also have a plus-matchup against Houston’s bullpen, which is 24th in ERA (4.82) this season.
Core Studs
- Tyler Soderstrom is on a heater, with six homers, eight runs, 16 RBI, a .396 on-base percentage (OBP), .266 ISO, .407 wOBA, .364 expected wOBA (xwOBA) and 158 wRC+ in his previous 111 plate appearances.
- Carlos Cortes has ripped six round-trippers with 16 runs, 18 RBI, one stolen base, a .396 OBP, .184 ISO, .391 wOBA, .379 xwOBA and 148 wOBA in 182 plate appearances this season.
Value Plays/Punts
- Bryce Eldridge has been clicking on all cylinders after a sluggish start for the Giants. In his past 82 plate appearances, Eldridge has drilled three dingers with 16 runs, 11 RBI, a .451 OBP, .257 ISO, .462 wOBA, .431 xwOBA and 201 wRC+.
- Jac Caglianone is enjoying a sophomore breakout, popping eight homers with 26 runs, 19 RBI, three stolen bases, a .351 OBP, .178 ISO, .357 wOBA and 124 wRC+ in 231 plate appearances.
- Carter Jensen has hit 11 homers with a .314 OBP, .226 ISO, .333 wOBA and 109 wRC+ in 229 career plate appearances against righties.
- Matt McLain missed the entire 2024 season but has hit eight homers with a .389 OBP, .262 ISO, .400 wOBA and 147 wRC+ in 126 career plate appearances against lefties at home since reaching The Show in 2023.
