Fantasy Baseball SP Rankings: Streamers & Two-Start Pitchers

Welcome to the FantasyPros Week 18 starting pitcher fantasy baseball rankings. Every week, we’ll take a closer look at the upcoming week and rank every starting pitcher based on their overall skills, recent production, head-to-head matchup and park factor. These rankings are for the period from Monday, August 3rd to Sunday, August 9th.

Fantasy Baseball Starting Pitchers Guide: Week 18

Be sure to take a look at expert consensus rankings (ECR) as a helpful tool when setting your lineups. You can also take advantage of our Pitcher Planner’s resource for probable pitchers as well as our streaming pitcher rankings.

NOTE: Pitchers like Tarik Skubal, who are virtual locks to be traded, were not included. We don’t know where they’ll be pitching, but we do know it won’t be on their current team.

Smash Spots

Payton Tolle (SP – BOS) vs. ATH

Payton Tolle should rack up strikeouts in a quality outing against an A’s lineup that has fallen off lately. He’ll also have a great chance for a win, as the Red Sox have been one of the hottest teams in the Majors.

Cade Cavalli (SP – WSH) vs. CIN

Cade Cavalli has elevated his game recently. He’s shown a high strikeout ceiling this year, which is good news for this matchup against the strikeout-prone Reds. We could see seven or more punchouts in this one.

Will Warren (SP – NYY) vs. STL

We just saw Will Warren dominate the Cubs. Now he’ll get a home start against one of the coldest lineups in baseball in the Cardinals. Bet on a quality outing with a great chance at a win.

Risky Starts

Paul Skenes (SP – PIT) at MIL

Paul Skenes has been nowhere near as good this year. Next up is an underrated Brewers lineup great at putting the ball in play. Obviously, you’re not benching him, but temper your expectations.

Dylan Cease (SP – TOR) at HOU

Dylan Cease has been spectacular in his debut season for the Blue Jays, but next up, he takes on the red-hot Astros on the road. As with Skenes, you’re not benching him, but this is definitely a risky start.

Bryce Miller (SP – SEA) vs. TBR

Bryce Miller hasn’t looked nearly as good lately. His velocity is down, and so are the strikeouts. That’s bad news against the pesky Rays, who do a great job putting the ball in play.

Two-Start Pitchers

Logan Henderson (SP – MIL) vs. PIT, vs. MIN

Logan Henderson has been phenomenal since returning from injury. Up next are two terrific matchups against the Pirates and Twins, both at home. We could see a combined 15 strikeouts with two wins.

Jared Jones (SP – PIT) at MIL, vs. NYM

Jared Jones has found his groove, so fire him up with confidence in a two-start week against the Brewers and Mets. There’s a good chance that he’ll combine for 12+ strikeouts.

Christian Scott (SP – NYM) at CLE, at PIT

Christian Scott is another pitcher who has found a nice rhythm lately. Bet on a pair of quality outings against the Guardians and the Pirates.
