Targeting pitchers who face teams with high strikeout rates and who don’t generate much quality contact can be valuable. Here are the current bottom-five teams in strikeout rate against right- and left-handed pitchers:

Two-Start Pitcher Notes
Week 21 sees a bunch of pitchers on their new teams making double starts. Jose Soriano, Foster Griffin, and Luis Castillo will toe the rubber for some tough matchups.
Soriano faces the top two teams in the American League on the road in the Rays and Yankees. Griffin’s second start comes in Colorado, which is usually never good for pitchers. Castillo faces the Cubs and Mets, who have both played much better of late.
The Royals have gotten so thin at starting pitcher, they’ve decided to steal their best reliever for the rotation. Daniel Lynch IV has been lights out in the bullpen and will look to translate that success into a starter’s role. On the season, he’s put up a 1.96 ERA, 0.93 WHIP, 6.9 K/9, one save, and 13 holds. He’ll need to build his stamina up before he can be useful for fantasy.
Nick Martinez and Brandon Young get double starts against each other’s teams. It’s really tough for pitchers to face hitters a second time, and doing so twice in one week is a recipe for failure.
