SP,RP - STL
Expert NoteView More Notes
Wacha was abysmal in 2016, but is still just 25 years-old and just one season removed from 17 wins and a 3.38 ERA. He isn't going to strike out more than 160 guys, but he is an excellent bounce-back flier late in drafts.

Michael Wacha punches out four in final spring tune-up
Cardinals SP Michael Wacha continued his success in his final start of Spring Training. He went 4 innings against the Nationals, striking out four and allowing five hits with one walk. The entirety of the Nats' damage came on a two-run HR by veteran Ryan Zimmerman.
Wacha rounds out Spring Training with an impressive 2.42 ERA, an encouraging sign as he strives to put his injury-riddled past behind him. For now, he should have his rotation spot locked down as long as he continues to be able to take the ball every fifth day for the Cardinals. Wacha only worked up to 64 pitches in this outing, so his first few starts may end a bit earlier than fantasy managers would hope for. The Cardinals will likely increase Wacha's workload slowly to play it safe with his health.
