How many teams want a second baseman that can hit 40-plus home runs? Apparently, several if you listen to Darren Wolfson of 5 Eyewitness News in Minnesota. Wolfson reports the Dodgers, along with the Cardinals as teams very much in the running to acquire the slugging second-sacker, with the Giants and Nationals also keenly interested. (www.mlb.com)
Fantasy Impact:
Dozier hit .268 last year with 42 home runs and 99 RBI. A career .246 hitter, he has seen his home run totals increase in each of his five years in the big leagues. Most attractive for potential suitors is he is owed just $15 million over the next two seasons.
