Cubs sign Taylor Teagarden

The Chicago Cubs have signed veteran catcher Taylor Teagarden to a minor league deal. Teagarden is expected to play for the AAA team, the Iowa Cubs. The seven year veteran has a career batting average of .202 while playing for Texas, Baltimore and the Mets. (Matt Edy on Twitter)
Fantasy Impact:
Since the Cubs already have three catchers on the 40 man roster, Teagarden will most likely spend most of the season in Triple A. With Wellington Castillo most likely traded before the start of the season, Teagarden will serve as insurance in case Miguel Montero or David Ross get injured. Teagarden will be the only minor league player for the Cubs with any big league experience.
