Hunter Strickland being placed on 60-day IL

by Mike Maher | Angels Correspondent | Mon, Apr 1st 8:56pm EDT

Seattle Mariners reliever Hunter Strickland has been placed on the 60-day IL with a Grade 2 lat strain. Strickland does not currently have a timeline for his recovery, and placing him on the 60-day IL opens up a spot on the 40-man roster for the recently-acquired right-hander Connor Sadzeck. Fantasy Impact:

Strickland can be stashed in leagues with rosters for injured lists deep enough to accommodate a lengthy absence, as he could return to a late-inning role for the Mariners in a few months. With no clear front-runner, the Mariners figure to go with a committee at closer for at least the short term.
