Shane Bieber earned MVP honors in the 2019 MLB All-Star Game, striking out the side in order in the fifth inning, amid a frantic home crowd at Progressive Field that was chanting his name.

Fantasy Impact:

Bieber was a key contributor to the American League pitching staff that held the National League offense to three runs on five hits and three walks, while striking out 16. Bieber, who was a late addition to the All-Star roster, is the third player in All-Star Game history to win the MVP award in his home ballpark, and the first pitcher to win MVP since 2013 when Mariano Rivera took home the honors. Bieber is 8-3 this season, with a 3.45 ERA and 141 strikeouts in 112.1 innings.
