Updating a previous report, OF Carlos Gonzalez was not released by the Mariners, per Jon Heyman of the MLB Network. (Jon Heyman on Twitter)
Fantasy Impact:
Gonzalez reportedly was released by the Mariners on Thursday, but Heyman is now stating the team did not waive him. With the Mariners in rebuilding mode, it will be tough for Gonzalez to see everyday at-bats. He slashed .200/.289/.283 with three homers, 10 RBI and 21 runs scored across 166 plate appearances for the Cubs/Indians in 2019. Gonzalez is merely a dart throw in AL-Only League formats.
