Nick Burdi to receive PRP injection in throwing elbow

Nick Burdi will receive a platelet-rich plasma injection in his strained right elbow per the Pirates director of sports medicine, Todd Tomczyk. (Jason Mackey on Twitter)
Fantasy Impact:
The injection should help Burdi avoid surgery, which would be a welcome sign for the oft-injured reliever. Burdi was placed on the 45-day IL on August 5th with the elbow issue and is out for the season.
