Al Alburquerque faced eight batters Friday against the Rays, but only got one out. Alburquerque allowed five hits, walked two, and was charged with six earned runs in the outing.
Fantasy Impact:
In his previous eight innings pitched during Spring Training, Alburquerque was doing well with a 10/1 K/BB ratio. Although Alburquerque has always had good stuff, his control has been a problem. Despite the rest of his Spring Training stats, Alburquerque will likely not see a chance for a setup role in the early part of the season after this dismal performance.
