Nick Castellanos receives two-game suspension, is appealing

by Mike Maher | Phillies Correspondent | Mon, Apr 5th 1:14pm EDT

Reds outfielder Nick Castellanos received a two-game suspension for his role in a benches-clearing incident against the St. Louis Cardinals that led to his ejection on Saturday, according to MLB insider Jon Heyman. Castellanos is reportedly appealing the suspension. (Jon Heyman on Twitter)

Fantasy Impact:

Castellanos was hit by a Jake Woodford pitch and then flexed over the pitcher after scoring on a wild pitch later in the inning, which resulted in both benches clearing and Castellanos being ejected. While no punches were thrown, the league has had a strict policy against fighting and instigating fighting since the beginning of the pandemic. It sounds like Castellanos will remain in the lineup for at least this week while he appeals his case, but we should see a ruling on this sooner rather than later.
