Jeff Francis shines in Toronto debut
by Steve Anagnos | Tue, Apr 21st 7:06pm EDT
The Blue Jays brought up Jeff Francis from AAA Buffalo on Sunday where he was immediately pressed into action against the Braves. Daniel Norris lasted only 2 2/3 innings and was relieved by Francis, who went 3 1/3 scoreless to give the Toronto bullpen a much needed rest. Francis replaced lefty Colt Hynes on the roster, who was optioned to AAA Buffalo. (MLB.com)
Fantasy Impact:
Francis is an interesting sign for Toronto. Once a top prospect with the Rockies as a starter, Francis has bounced around a bit in the majors. With the Jays rotation struggling a bit, Francis (34) could end up having some value if he can pitch himself into a starting role.
