Scott Baker pitched seven innings in a loss to the San Diego Padres. He allowed four hits, three earned runs, two walks, and struck out six. He served up two home runs. 73-of-102 pitches were thrown for strikes.
Fantasy Impact:
Scott Baker throws strikes but does not possess over-powering stuff. His fastball is 91 mph but has good movement on his two-seamer and an effective slider. He did strike out Justin Upton three times but had difficulty putting other batters away. He could be a useful fantasy asset later in the season because he won't beat himself but there are questions as to how the rotation will play out in the future.
