Gregorio Petit poor in his return to the Yankees

by Chris Zolli | Wed, Apr 29th 5:33pm EDT

Gregorio Petit was sent down to Triple-A Scranton-Wilkes Barre to allow Chase Whitley to start last night, but was back in the Bronx, and starting at 2B, on Wednesday afternoon. Petit finished 0-for-2 with two strikeouts before Stephen Drew relieved him in the eighth inning.

Fantasy Impact:

Petit has found a way to get 31 plate appearances this season, but has a .192 batting average. Although his statistics do not look good, Petit actually has a better extra base percentage relative to plate appearances than Stephen Drew; Petit has three extra base hits and Drew has seven extra base hits in 74 plate appearances. Petit can play both 2B and SS and had a .278 batting average last season with the Astros.
