The suspension is without pay and is effective immediately. Santiago will miss the remainder of the 2021 season and part of the 2022 season as well. He was also the first player in MLB to be suspended for having a foreign substance on his glove earlier in July. He finishes the season with a 3.42 ERA, 1.44 WHIP, and 30:11 K/BB ratio over 26 1/3 innings.
