Reds relief pitcher Tejay Antone announced on his twitter Thursday that he will be undergoing Tommy John surgery following a reaggravation in his forearm on Tuesday. (Tejay Antone on Twitter)

Fantasy Impact:

It's a tough blow for Antone, who after impressing in the short 2020 season came back with an even better 2021. He had an ERA of 1.87 with 42 strikeouts in his 33.2 innings while also tallying three saves before going down with the initial forearm strain, throwing just seven pitches in his return before injuring it again. He figured to be a key part of Cincinnati's future as a backend guy in the bullpen, although this surgery will likely keep him out until the 2023 season.
