Keone Kela (Tommy John surgery) cut loose by Padres

The Padres have declined a club option on relief pitcher Keone Kela, who is currently recovering from Tommy John surgery. (Kevin Acee on Twitter)
Fantasy Impact:
Kela could pitch in the second half of 2022, but San Diego doesn't want to pay him $800,000. Injuries have certainly been a concern for the 28-year-old, who has pitched just 12.2 innings since the end of the 2019 season. Once he has fully recovered, Kela will likely find himself signing a minor league deal.
