Anthony Rendon receives five-game suspension

Major League Baseball announced 3B Anthony Rendon would serve a five-game suspension following the benches-clearing brawl in Sunday's game against the Mariners. (Sam Blum on Twitter)
Fantasy Impact:
The third baseman was cited for his "actions during the incident and leaving the dugout while on the Injured List." In Rendon's situation, he will serve the suspension upon returning from the IL, which will not be until next season. In addition to that suspension, Rendon is prohibited from sitting on the bench for the Angels' next seven games. Unless you play in a league where bench players earn points for cheering, there is no fantasy impact until 2023.
