Bryce Elder takes on loss on Monday

by Devon Bruce | Braves Correspondent | Tue, Oct 4th 10:19am EDT

Bryce Elder pitched five innings, allowing four earned runs on six hits and a walk while striking out five during Atlanta's loss to Miami on Monday.

Fantasy Impact:

The Marlins staked a four-run lead on a couple of RBI doubles and a Bryan De La Cruz home run by the fourth inning and didn't look back. Elder was exceptional in his last start, pitching a complete game shutout but couldn't follow up with as sharp of an outing this time out. Elder has been a decent fill-in starter for the Braves when called upon, posting a 2-4 record with a 3.17 ERA and 1.24 WHIP with 47 strikeouts over nine starts and could potentially find a place in the Braves rotation next season depending on if they make a move in the offseason.
