Taylor Walls (oblique) should be ready for Opening Day

by Brenton Kemp | Rays Correspondent | Wed, Mar 8th 2:54pm EST

Tampa Bay Rays manager Kevin Cash said he's "confident" shortstop Taylor Walls will be ready for Opening Day as he recovers from an oblique injury. (MLB.com)

Fantasy Impact:

The ailment has sidelined Walls for the entirety of spring training but the skipper seems to believe he should be ready in time for the team's March 30 opener against the Tigers. The switch-hitting Walls has taken dry swings from the right side of the plate and is making progress despite still feeling some discomfort. Walls struggled mightily to a .172 average with eight homers, 10 steals, and a .553 OPS across 142 games in 2022.
