Brandon Nimmo diagnosed with strain in both knee and ankle

by Vince DiSilvio | Mets Correspondent | Sat, Mar 18th 3:32pm EDT

Brandon Nimmo has been diagnosed with a low-grade strain in both his knee and ankle. He will be re-evaluated in a week. (Joel Sherman on Twitter)

Fantasy Impact:

While the injury does seem to be somewhat minor, the Mets are going to take things week-by-week, so his status for Opening Day is unclear at the moment. We should have a good idea of his availability for the start of the season around this time next week. If Nimmo were to miss extended time, Tommy Pham and Darin Ruf could see more playing time.
