Veteran reliever Chris Martin is returning to the Texas Rangers on a one-year deal. According to Jon Heyman, the contract is split into a $2 million salary and a $2 million signing bonus, with an additional $1 million possible based on innings pitched. (Jon Heyman on X)

Fantasy Impact:

Martin, who will turn 40 in June, has put together a solid career as a middle reliever. The righthander, who is entering his 11th season in 2026, has posted a career 3.33 ERA while averaging more than a strikeout per inning. Known for his great control, he has not walked more than eight batters in any season. Martin will also be called upon for an occasional save, earning nine over the past four seasons and 16 overall. He had a 2.98 ERA for the Rangers last season and should retain a middle relief role in 2026.
