Ryan Helsley implodes in ninth inning Thursday against Blue Jays

by Chris Schommer | Cardinals Correspondent | Fri, Mar 31st 9:21am EDT

Ryan Helsley imploded in the ninth inning for the Cardinals Thursday afternoon, allowing two runs on two hits while also walking one in one inning pitched, blowing a save chance and taking the loss in a 10-9 loss to the Blue Jays.

Fantasy Impact:

Helsley was unable to miss opposing bats in the ninth inning for the Cardinals, finishing with a .500 opponents batting average Thursday afternoon. The 28-year-old was mostly automatic as the primary ninth-inning option for the Cardinals in 2022, posting a 0.74 WHIP and 13.08 K/9 ratio in 54 relief appearances. The right-hander's stuff is too good for fantasy managers to not expect a return to form going forward.
