Thompson started Sunday versus Cubs lefty Drew Smyly and will return to the starting lineup Monday versus Mets southpaw David Peterson. The 32-year-old continues to hit for gargantuan power with four homers and an eye-popping .480 isolated power in just 31 trips to the plate this season but doesn't get much playing time against right-handed starting pitchers.
