While Maton has displayed some pop and patience at the plate, his bat has been rather pitiful overall. Despite five homers and an excellent 13.6% walk rate on the season, Maton is hitting just .168 with a .622 OPS across 147 plate appearances on the season. His batting average is the worst in baseball among qualified hitters.
