Ben Cowles has been designated for assignment by the Chicago White Sox. The move makes room for Drew Romo to be added to the 40-man roster. (Jack Ankony on X)

Cowles, 25, was drafted in the 10th round by the Yankees in the 2021 MLB Draft. The infielder has yet to make his big league debut and is a career .258 hitter with 39 home runs and 70 stolen bases in 1,852 minor league plate appearances.
