Washington has spent the last seven seasons coaching with the Atlanta Braves while he previously managed the Texas Rangers from 2007-2014, compiling a 664-611 record while making three postseason appearances, including back-to-back World Series losses in 2010 and 2011. He will look to turn around an underperforming Angels team that went just 73-89 in 2023, good for fourth place in the AL West.
