The announcement came from Dodgers general manager Brandon Gomes as Lux was slated to transition to shortstop in 2023 before an ACL injury cost him the 2023 season. The 25-year-old has spent the bulk of his big-league time at second base but is expected to be the club's shortstop of the future after Corey Seager's departure prior to the 2022 season. He last hit .276 with six homers and seven stolen bases across 129 games in the 2022 campaign.
