David Hamilton (side) hopeful to avoid IL stint

Red Sox manager Alex Cora said the team is hopeful David Hamilton won't be placed on the injured list. (Mac Cerullo on Twitter)

"We'll see how he comes tomorrow," Cora said. "I think we were proactive so hopefully not an IL stint, but we'll know more tomorrow." Cora added that Hamilton was feeling sore pregame and that it got worse after swinging during his first at bat.
