The Pittsburgh Pirates have transferred Tim Mayza from the 15-day IL to the 60-day IL. (Pittsburgh Post-Gazette)

Mayza's move to the 60-day IL was expected after Pirates director of sports medicine Todd Tomczyk said Wednesday the left-hander would be shut down from throwing for at least six weeks. His IL placement opened a roster spot for Matt Gorski, who briefly joined the Pirates before swapping places with Jack Suwinski.
